Explaining My Absence

Explaining My Absence

Absence is not a very positive subject to speak of, but it can definitely help with explaining my presence here.

Who am I?

I’m Kunal Dubey.

My website and my LinkedIn would tell you I’m a marketer.
My socials would tell you I’m a ghost.

And everyone I’ve ever met will give you a half hearted picture of what I truly am. A poet, or a musician, or a revenue churning machine, or a hard working employee, or a coward, or an overthinker, or a burnout. My absence is yet mine to speak of.

But for the purpose of this blog, I’m only as good as the reader that consumes this content.

Where was I before this?

I’ve had a troubled relationship with social media and my own online presence, figuring out what to even share that would help others on their respective paths.

I hadn’t figured out my own, you see. I know I was close enough to never share what I was still in the process of figuring out, until I figured some of it out.

I took some time out to learn more about my work, read a tonne, gain enough professional experience, and reflect on the relationship I needed to have with this social beast of dopamine hits and content that doesn’t stick (but should).

I took time out to upskill in process mapping, psychology, analytics, digital marketing, and getting businesses to survive in their trickiest and darkest days.

I took on unconventional projects. I took on the challenging roles where I was destined to fail, and somehow came out on top. I took the time in my absence to truly reflect on what I knew before I had the purpose to share it across, found my niches, and built a referral based reputation long before I could declare my presence known.

I took some time out to discover a sense of appreciation for strategy and planning, and being responsible with the content I deliver to only share what I know would help. And probably, not just to other marketers, but all professionals.

Not all is glory and grind, a lot of it is learning through sacrifice and unlearning the wrong lessons.

And that’s what I’m here to provide.

Without the sacrifice.

What am I trying to do here?

I’m here to reveal how I pulled off being a ghost in a world that rewards the noisy. I’m here to step out of the absence, and start sharing all I’ve learned, a lot of which, I hope, is helpful to a lot of you.

I’m here to help with the challenges of standing out in a crowded market, being someone worth networking with, volunteering with your best foot forward, and at the very least, finding your footing amidst all the chaos of today’s hyper-competitive world.

I spent a lot of time breaking down the ebbs and flows of the teachings my career gave me, and put it all into a structure without making it too niche.

What will you get from me?

I’m here to deliver therapy for your professional life.

I’m here to share all I have learned so far about people, psychology, marketing, management, leadership, and our shifting paradigms around content consumption and the very interactions we have with each other.

And the responsibility that comes therewith.

Life can be challenging at best, and silencing at worst. But if you listen closely, the right wisdom does have a stickiness to it that doesn’t just revolve around an ‘Aha’ moment of agreeing with what you’re seeing.

The right content, I feel, should redefine and challenge you, and change you as a person, for the better.

So if that’s something that interests you, whether you’re a creator on the fence or just struggling to make sense of it all, you’re in the right place.

Feel free to join my journey into therapeutic work.

Until next time.
